Mandatory Reporters: Guidelines and Skills, 8 hours
The purpose of this scenario-based training is to provide probation officers solid, real-world information and strategies to recognize criminal activity indicators, such as domestic violence, elder abuse, sex crimes, child abuse, and narcotics during their home visits, follow-up discussions, and investigations. This course thoroughly covers legal responsibilities as “mandatory reporters,” to provide for both the immediate protection of and for the longer-term assistance with victims who are associated with the probationer (family member(s), friend(s), coworker, spouse). Mandatory reporting activates federal, state, and county departments (law enforcement, state licensing, child or adult protective services) to fulfill their respective roles relative to investigations and service delivery. This course is hands-on and highly interactive.
