Laura Lynn Reed

Laura Lynn Reed is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University in the GSEP program, with an instruction focus on Assessment and Diagnosis of Mental Disorders, Psychopharmacology, and Individual and Family Treatment of Addiction. Additionally, Laura continues to counsel individuals.

Laura has nearly 20 years of experience in mental health settings including long-term care facilities for sub acute, medical, and Murphy-conserved units, residential, and outpatient settings for both youth and adults, including treatment of co-occurring disorders / Addiction Medicine. Laura has served as a department administrator for Kaiser Permanente managing a staff of 50+ employees in an outpatient setting. She has experience with program development including the development of intensive outpatient programs. Laura was part of the risk management and workplace safety teams providing in-service training to staff for management of high-risk patients, active shooter scenarios and conflict resolution.

Laura’s mission is to provide up-to-date training. Communication skills, addiction/substance abuse,  mental health assessment and intervention, and psychopharmacology are Laura’s subject matter expertise. She is a very approachable and open instructor and is passionate about teaching in the classroom..
