Amanda Waldeck is currently a Senior Special Agent, overseeing the training unit within the Office of Correctional Safety, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. She has over 25-years of working experience and has held positions that involved undercover operations, human trafficking investigations, in-progress crimes as a police officer, court liaison, school resource officer, sex offender placement and field supervision as a probation officer and supervision of violent offenders through GPS monitoring as a parole agent. She held a position on the crisis negotiator team as a police officer and has learned conflict resolution through formal training, as well as crafting her skillset in the field and during interview and interrogations over the course of her career. Additionally, she has spent many hours testifying in court and learning courtroom procedures. Along the way, she has helped cultivate and mentor newer staff, taught in-house training to her peers and developed and taught curriculum when building a new investigative unit. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Sacramento and earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University. She firmly believes that training is crucial in keeping staff current with “best practices” and that shared experiences and critical discussions is the best environment for professionals to learn.
