This course covers vital updated and advanced DSL material probation officers need in order to determine probation eligibility and correctly calculate maximum prison or jail exposure in more complicated multi-count cases. Participants receive hands-on experience in the application of factors in aggravation and mitigation, enhancements, consecutive sentencing, priors, aggregate terms, three strikes, sex crimes and the impact of AB 109 on DSL. Through 2016, a frequently updated resource, The Felony Sentencing Script is offered digitally for free from Jack Ryan, our instructor.
