Christina Nivela is a dedicated, bilingual correctional professional with 23 years of progressive experience in both juvenile and adult justice systems. A former LAPD officer, Ms. Nivela brings a powerful blend of frontline experience and academic expertise to her training. Christina holds a Master’s in Ethical Leadership and is currently completing her Master of Public Administration. She is highly skilled in servant leadership, evidence-based practices, peer training, and de-escalation techniques, with a strong commitment to applied theory and real-world teaching. Throughout her career, Christina has demonstrated a passion for fostering learner success and informed civic leadership by blending academic instruction with practical insights from her extensive field experience. Her strengths include peer modeling, report writing, advocacy, tactical communication, ethics, mental health/addiction training, and critical thinking, all underscored by a dedication to ethics, collaboration, and community-focused leadership.
